1 Step 1. Soak the breadcrumbs in the milk for 5 minutes. Add the beef, pork, eggs, Parmesan, parsley, garlic, salt and pepper and mix gently with your hands until just combined.2 Step 2. Roll into 1 1/4-inch balls and set on a parchment-lined sheet pan.3 Step 3. Heat the oven to 425 degrees and roast the meatballs 12 to 14 minutes, until browned.4 Step 4. For the sauce, cook the onion in the olive oil over medium heat until soft, add the garlic for a minute, then the tomatoes and salt. Simmer 15 minutes and tear in the basil.5 Step 5. Add the meatballs to the sauce and simmer 10 minutes more. Serve warm.
Brittney's notes
They keep in the sauce for 3 days and freeze well. Reheat gently, covered, so they stay tender.
