What you'll find here
A little bit of everything that makes a house feel like home, from what we're cooking and growing to gathering around the table.
The things we actually cook. Weeknight dinners, Sunday suppers, cocktails and recipes made for sharing.
Menus, tables, traditions and Bluestone Rules. Ideas to borrow, make your own and bring to your table.
What we're planting, growing and learning, and how it all makes its way from the garden back to the table.
Let me help you get dinner on the table. Prepared meals and small-event catering, whether you're feeding your family or a house full of friends.
A few things I have learned from feeding a lot of people.
The rule of five.
Greet with a drink.
Family table and family style.
Prep yesterday, enjoy today.

Who's cooking
I'm a mom of two, home cook, gardener and the person who is always looking for an excuse to have everyone over.
Bluestone & Basil is where I share what I'm cooking, growing and learning along the way, plus the traditions and little rules that make feeding people easier.
Because the house doesn't have to be perfect and dinner doesn't have to be complicated. There just has to be room for one more.

Asked and answered
No. I am not a trained chef and most of what is here I learned by getting it wrong first. Everything on this site is written for someone figuring out dinner at the last minute, because that is usually me.
Less than you think. The point of everything here is that having people over should not cost you a week. Most of it is a menu that holds, a table you set once, and a bit of timing.
Absolutely not. One pot and one flower is genuinely enough. The photographs are a good day, not a standard, and nothing here needs a theme or a project.
One letter a week. What we ate, what worked, and what I would do differently. Short enough to read standing up, and you can leave whenever you like.
The newsletter
A letter from my house to yours. What we're cooking, what's growing, who's coming over and the things I'm learning along the way.
